• Guns, Germs and Steel:  The Fates of Human Societies - Jared Diamond

"Written by a UCLA Medical School professor explaining why some societies succeed and others fail"

• The Four Pillars of Investing:  Lessons for Building a Winning Portfolio - William J. Bernstein

"A practicing neurologist's look at the scientific side of finance"

• Man's Search for Meaning -  Victor Frankl

"A physician's story of surviving a Nazi concentration camp"

 

These books are recommended as sources of great information in fields of philosophy, financial theory and history.  They come as highly recommended extra-medical texts by me.  I have enjoyed reading and re-reading them and refer to them more frequently than my medical texts.  The authors all have a medical connection and are well worth becoming acquainted with.
