Individual Projects for the Radiology Elective
The subject selected should be one of personal interest. Don't worry about how unique the subject might be, just select a subject that is interesting to you and one about which you want to learn more. The issue could be an interesting medical case, a specific imaging procedure or a more general (cost effectiveness would be an example) facet in Radiology.
Fill out the project information sheet in your booklet and return it to Penny Al-Emam or Pauline Pichoff by the third week of the rotation.
After the subject is selected and appropriate paperwork returned, do a literature review and read the important, recent information on the subject. Your project may be presented in a number of ways, the most popular format being Power point.
You will present your project the last week of the rotation during the group conference. The exact presentation date will be decided at the beginning of each rotation. We will review your project with the group so that everyone can learn the most important information developed by each individual project.
You will be asked to leave a copy of your project in the Radiology department. You may do so in paper form or leave a copy on the computer desktop.
We will keep these projects for our USC teaching files, using them to enrich the education of the medical students that are to follow you.
If you have any questions please call Penny (733-3298) or Pauline (733-3295) in the Radiology department
